Did You Miss The Just For Laughs Comedy Festival & Awards 2025?
You really should join ComedyCures next year at JFL in Montréal for a week of comedy shows. Founder Saranne started going 25 years ago while doing chemo 3 times a day. This year "Welcome to Wrexham" Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac (fellow proud Philadelphian) showed up at the Awards Show. Comedian Legend and ComedyCures Humor Ambassador George Wallace won and so did Rising Star and new ComedyCures buddy Hannah Berner, among others.

I love the idea of building health through laughter! I remember attending a similar workshop that brightened my day. cookie clicker What’s your favorite exercise from past sessions?
What a packed update. Side note for the ComedyCures team: between Tumor Humor, Health Coach Study, AI Mindset Study, LaughLine, Health Builder Sessions, Laugh-A-Gram, HumorBuddy, BCD Podcast (388 episodes!), Laughter Summit, "Have a Laugh", and 25+ years of news archive, the site has remarkable depth — but new visitors (especially patients newly diagnosed) face a lot of nav at exactly the moment they're most overwhelmed. A "Newly Diagnosed: Start Here Today" sortable landing page (filter by stage + diagnosis type + role — patient / caregiver / medical staff → matched podcast episode + program + Zoom session) would dramatically improve activation for the BCD audience. I help small patient nonprofits build that with a copy web ai — Figma…
388 episodes across 137 countries with a Top 5 Cancer Podcast ranking two years running — that's the kind of patient-community reach most nonprofits don't even imagine. And the JFL anecdote about Saranne going for 25 years through chemo is genuinely the kind of story BCD listeners need to keep hearing. I help with comms for a small patient-community nonprofit and we've started using an Nano Banana AI image generator for our Zoom-event promo graphics and patient-story carousels (stock photography for "people on Zoom calls" is uniformly stiff — generated illustrations let us match the tone of the actual program). The level design in Drive Mad encourages experimentation rather than rushing. Trying different approaches is often the key to getting past difficult sections.
this sounds like a wonderful initiative. combining humor with health education is such a positive approach. the details about the zoom session on september 16 are clear, and it's great that handouts are included. the mention of the daily podcast reaching so many countries is impressive. it's heartening to see a focus on community and support for patients and caregivers.
